Barber's 5 TDs Leads Woodlands Football Past Blind Brook

HARTSDALE, N.Y. - Woodlands High School running Tyrone Barber rushed for 187 yards and five touchdowns on just 11 carries Saturday to lead the Falcons to a 52-14 season-opening victory versus Blind Brook

Barber helped lead the Falcons to a 9-1 record and a Section 1 Class C championship last fall as a junior.

Kourtney Blanding had 14 tackles and a sack and teammate Khaleek Hill had two interceptions, one for a 32-yard touchdown to lead the Woodlands defense.

Dobbs Ferry 36, Pawling 6

Senior running back Tim Soave led the Eagles with a first-half output of 11 carries for 133 yards and two scores and sophomore Jibril Kapadia had 11 carries for 87 yards and a touchdown for Dobbs Ferry.

Chris Addorision had 10 tackles to lead the Dobbs Ferry defense.

Ardsley 27, Westlake 13

Ardsley's George Difiore rushed for 157 yards and scored two touchdowns on 16 carries to lead the Panthers in the home opener.

Panthers quarterback Joe Deguardi completed 12 of 17 passes for 136 yards and a touchdown. Receiver Dylan Resk had three receptions for 51 yards and a touchdown.

Patrick Polintan made 12 tackles and had two sacks and  Quinn Reilly had a 40-yard touchdown interception return for a score.

Albertus Magnus 26, Hastings 13

The visiting Falcons had two interceptions in the first half and opened a 14-0 lead at halftime en route to the opening day win at Hastings.
