District 20 Majors Softball Championship Opens

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. - The quest for a trip to Portland, Ore. – home of the Little League Softball Majors Division World Series – begins Sunday with the opening of the District 20 softball majors tournament.

Seven teams, highlighted by defending champion Kensico, are aiming to win the District 20 title and, eventually, earn a berth in Portland.

Harrison will host Hastings at noon at Brentwood Park, and White Plains will play Sherman Park at Volunteer Field in Thornwood, also at noon. Ardsley will travel to Pat Henry Field in Valhalla to face Kensico at 3 p.m.

The Ardsley-Kensico winner will play Eastchester in a semifinal at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday at Brentwood Park. The White Plains-Sherman Park and Hastings-Harrison winners will face each other in the other semifinal at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday at McDowell Field in Ardsley.

The championship game is scheduled for 5:45 p.m. Wednesday, June 27, at McDowell Field.
