HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – Hastings High School will host the fifth-annual Hastings Boys Lacrosse Tournament in memory of Skylar Sonn-Tancredi.

Eighth-grader Sonn-Tancredi, 14, drowned in 2006 in his grandparents’ swimming pool in Irvington. A heart disorder known as long QT syndrome, which can cause fainting, heart palpitations or even death, caused the accident.

The school has held the tournament in honor of Sonn-Tancredi for four years, and that tradition continues this year with four games during two days. Irvington, Dobbs Ferry, Ardsley and Hastings high schools will all participate.

Irvington will play at Dobbs Ferry on Friday at 4:30, while Ardsley will face Hastings at New Burke Field at the same time. The losers of those matches will play in the consolation game Saturday at 10 a.m. at New Burke Field, and the winners will face off in the championship game at noon.
