Carmosino crossed the finish line with a time of 16:44:9 in the Nov. 7 event, and, as a result, is moving on to the state championships, which will take place on Saturday at Monroe Woodbury High School.
The New York State Class C boys race will begin at 9:50 a.m. The boys cross-country team placed third out of 17 schools in the Class C race on Nov. 7.
In addition to Carmosino’s win, teammates Will Dwyer and Aidan Denahy both placed in the top 12 in that race.
“Congratulations to the entire team as well as Irvington High School cross-country head coach Chris Barry and assistant coach Deryl Thornton on an outstanding season,” Athletic Director Arthur McCormack said.
