GREENBURGH, N.Y. – The Walter Panas High School boys’ basketball tournament begins Friday with all four teams in action, including Irvington High School.
Lakeland High School will face Irvington at 5 p.m. while Panas will take on John Jay High School at 7 p.m. The winners of those two games will play for the championship on Saturday at 7 p.m., while the losers will square off for in the consolation game at 3 p.m.
Irvington struggled last season with a 4-14 record but return six seniors, including Ryan O’Donnell, who led the team in scoring last season. Senior center Beau Muise, who stands at 6’4”, also rejoins the team.
The Bulldogs started the season with a loss to Dobbs Ferry High School in the Irvington tournament and then lost a close one to Pelham Memorial High School in the consolation game. Irvington then blew out Roosevelt High School by 34 points on the road.
