WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. – The full playoff brackets for the Section 1 baseball playoffs were released early Monday afternoon and the week of furious playoff action begins Tuesday with some intriguing matchups.
Mamaroneck earned the top seed in Class AA and will play its opening round game Wednesday against the winner of Tuesday’s game between Horace Greeley and Clarkstown South. Other outbracket round action Tuesday in Class AA includes No. 15 Scarsdale vs. No. 18 Lincoln and No. 14 White Plains against No. 19 Ramapo.
Yonkers received the top seed in Class A. Twenty-five teams qualified for the playoffs and nine outbracket games will be played Tuesday. Perhaps the most intriguing game is the matchup of league rivals featuring No. 12 Pelham and No. 21 Saunders.
Briarcliff earned the top seed in Class B after a stellar season and will begin its quest Wednesday for a second consecutive appearance in the state championship game. Keio earned the second seed.
The Class C playoffs feature just five teams, including top-seeded Haldane. The quarterfinal game Tuesday pits No. 4 Hamilton against No. 5 Palisade Prep.
