Taylor Nussbaum is about to play basketball on the big stage.
Nussbaum is playing for the Penn State Nittany Lyons after playing at John Jay-Cross River High School, White Plains High School and at Cheshire Academy in Connecticut.
At White Plains, Nussbaum earned all-section and all-league and was ranked No. 13 in New York State for the Class of 2017.
"We’re impressed with his work ethic, energy, and attitude," coach Patrick Chambers said. "He’s a competitor who is committed to helping make everyone on the team better.”
The last John Jay player on a Division I men's basketball roster was 1992 graduate Steve Silas (Brown), now associate head coach of the Charlotte Hornets.
Penn State tipped off its season against Campbell on Friday.
