Barber, who helped lead the Falcons to a Section 1 Class C championship and a trip to the state regional playoffs with a final record of 9-1, scored 16 touchdowns in limited action due to an early-season injury. The Section 1 title was the first for Woodlands since 1985.

Barber caught three passes for 94 yards and two scores as the Falcons topped Bronxville, 35-7, in the Section 1 semifinals and led the team in rushing in a 35-0 victory against Rye Neck in the Class C final.

Barber had his biggest game of the season in late October when he complied 400 yards of total offense and had five touchdowns, including kickoff returns of 99 and 75 yards, in the Falcons’ victory versus Tuckahoe.

“He’s dangerous anytime he holds the ball,” Woodlands coach Mike Meade said. “He’s making plays happen by himself when there’s no blocking.”

Barber credited the seniors on the team for blocking for him and opening up running lanes and gave full credit to Meade and the coaching staff for their work.
