Woodlands Streak Snapped by Rival Dobbs Ferry

GREENBURGH, N.Y. – Andre Scipio scored a game-high 31 points for Woodlands, but it wasn’t enough as the visiting Tuckahoe boys basketball team avenged an earlier loss to Woodlands with a 68-61 victory Monday at Woodlands High School.

Woodlands (13-4) had won seven straight games since upsetting the then-unbeaten Eagles and Dobbs Ferry extended its winning streak to seven games since losing to the Falcons. The Eagles (15-1) suffered their only loss of the season to Woodlands 75-66 on Jan. 11 at Dobbs Ferry.

Eric Paschall scored 21 points and grabbed 18 rebounds and Tom Fleming added 19 points to lead the Eagles, who outscored the Falcons 17-7 in a third quarter run to pull into the lead.

“Tonight was a great team effort,” senior forward Thomas Fleming said. “After losing to them the first game we realized that we needed to come together as a team and block everyone else out. Tonight we played more together and it really showed because of it. Everyone one the team contributed tremendously.”

Fleming added nine rebounds and eight assists and John Yozzo-Scaperrotta scored 10 point and also grabbed nine rebounds for Dobbs Ferry.

The Eagles used a 15-7 third-quarter run to take the lead in the game and held on for the win.
