Two Injured In Ambulette Crash In Greenburgh

GREENBURGH, N.Y. -- Two passengers were injured when an ambulette crashed into a utility pole in Greenburgh on Thursday afternoon. 

Greenburgh Police said the cause of the accident is under investigation.

The Premiere Ambulette vehicle crashed around 535 Old Tarrytown Road and near the intersection of Knollwood Road at approximately 4 p.m. 

One 76-year-old female passenger is listed in critical condition after sustaining serious physical injury. The second passenger, a 49-year-old woman is listed in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries. 

Driver Michael T. Smith, 36, of Mount Vernon, denied any injuries to police. The van received heavy front end damage.

There are no criminal charges filed. The accident's cause is under investigation. 

Old Tarrytown Road was closed in both directions between Knollwood Road and Elm Street until 7:15 p.m.
