I find your comments "seriously creepy" not to mention ignorant. Homeschooling children has become a viable alternative in today's world. Do you really think "critical thinking skills" are coming from the failed public school environment, across most of the nation, today? The "outside influences" you are referring to can encompass drug dealing, bullying and physical harm, while teachers turn their heads....haven't you heard of what's happening on the school buses let alone the classrooms. Many States are embracing online learning and it is proving very effective, not to mention providing a safe environment for learning. It's a new day, Ms/Mr. Levin. View Comment
I'm with you cjmesq: funny we didn't hear much from Andy about his concern for "the continued courage and sacrifice" of our military before his wobly run for re-election....this trip is as stupid as the one he took to Israel...... View Comment
What I further cannot understand is, didn't these two parents speak all day....and chat about the child being dropped off, how was he doing, happy, sad, so forth?
I remember so long ago dropping my little one at pre-K and in those days we could stay a little...then at some point, during the day, speak to your husband (wife in this case) and talk about your child, his mood, etc. Something doesn't ring right with this story? OR they are two incredibly cold, uncaring people. This is such an awful tragedy and I do think further investigation is warrented. View Comment
I think the Dems have inspired a "backfire" issue here. Mr. Astorino's additional Consulting, which he does well, only supports the fact that he is a WORKING man....Cuomo continues to hide in Albany, as he did in the last Gubernatorial election, doing God Knows What, saying nothing and keeping out of sight, just waiting for the election to be over...he believes he is a shoo-in. Mr. Astorino takes responsibility for the County, campaigns, speaks intelligently, publicly and often regarding issues, and has a media responsibility. I, for one, want a Governor who WORKS, not hides. It's time for a Change if New Yorkers don't want this State nosediving. The latest CNBC poll puts New York nearly dead-last as desirable States to live in, along with the desirablity of the business climate. These are jobs. A State cannot exist without the Corporate Presence. You'd see how quickly the layoffs begin at the State level if Corporations stop coming in...it's time to do the homework. View Comment
This is something new....perhaps we can blame this outrageous escalation in drug us ON the Governor....if it weren't that he is up for re-election, this would remain a non-essential item....the Governor isn't in the loop for the common resident in New York...the escalation of heroin use in the schools in Westchester County alone is shocking and not at all recent.....the monies for drug enforcement and enhancement of programs should have been on the table the very first year of his Governorship....it is now a "crumb"tossed out because Cuomo is desperate for re-election. This article is Hilarious...Truth Squad?! This "Squad" eminating from a Governor who disbanded The Moreland Commission barely a month ago. The Commission was set up with the focus of fighting unethical behaviour common in Albany, the Judiciary, Campaign financing and hundreds of other issues which need to be addressed in New York State. THIS is the Governor who said" It's my commission and I can do what I like with a Commission I started" (in other words)- so he did....he disbanded it. There are articles all over the internet on it. I personally think Gov. Cuomo ought to exchange his goons for truth for a good "ad man" .... I hope Astorino picks up on this....it's truly hilarious. View Comment
Abortion, gun control, gay rights....all important and valid issues. HOWEVER, if you don't have smart leadership, nothing gets accomplished...isn't Cuomo a prime example. What you can expect from this throwback "thug" is coverup (Moreland Commission on Ethics disbanded), the pipeline to encourage jobs (three years of "review"), continuing the Same entrenched leadership in Albany, Sheldon Silver and the like.....oh for Term Limits!!....Rob Astorino has New, With It, and Open surrounding him...it's time for the Greatest State to draw Corporations once again, not Gambling and what that draws!! New York is in trouble from the ground up...special interst groups have been running this State far too long. No young person wants to live here any longer, nor can they afford to.....who wants to return home to mom and dad, yet it is totally unaffordable once they leave college. This is why Houston, San Antonio and Austin are draining our young and brightest.....affordability!! Gov. Cuomo is so out of touch with what the average middle-class guy wants from his State...time for him to go, and Astorino is Perfect....young, smart, "with it", and lovely young family to look at....breath of fresh air all around!! Rob Astorino has been a working County Executive, who has done a fine job and lending an air of class to the position. We could do with a breath of fresh air in Albany. (Why does Gov. Cuomo look like an angry madman when he delivers an address?) View Comment
Excellent for New York...what a breath of fresh air it would be to have Mr. Astorino for Governor. He has proven to be a "hands on" County Executive, courageous in his dealings with the unions and an all around excellent representative. Cuomo has proven to be a dead in the water governor, uncommunicative and retro in his thinking...the best he can do is drag in gambling as a solution to raising revenue? New York needs a fresh and involved person who is committed to keeping New York great...business in and government involvement out. Good Luck to Astorino! View Comment
I pray this man is found and all is well.
My daughter lives in Houston. It is a widely accepted belief in this city so close to the Mexican border that Americans are at risk crossing over. View Comment
Please don't muddy the issue here WP.....if you don't like Paul Feiner, then say so.....he's offered valuable advice to a very courageous group of women who have had the courage to begin something long needed. I am the mother of a 25 year old high functioning autistic woman and we have seen our share of the police at our home. The terror is real and if you are not living in a town where the police are "savvy" enough to understand, your child could be in REAL trouble.....I think this idea brilliant, and Paul Feiner extended his thoughts, and he's right. I believe these women should definitely go forward.
