Where is the corresponding article for the Lakeland district? I don't see it here or on the Cortlandt page. And given that about half of Yorktown is in the Lakeland district, that article (if it existed) should have been on the Yorktown page as well. View Comment
Hopefully the same bill will get rid of the toll on I-95 north of New Rochelle. I go out of my way to avoid that one as well (which is more expensive - $1.75). View Comment
I thought there was as bill introduced yesterday (which Astorino said he would sign) to comply with the terms of the agreement, which would prevent the funds from being reallocated? View Comment
Why didn't you just update the original article with the details of the death? Instead, you have this article as #2 and the original article as #1 and it's not immediately obvious that they are the same accident.

Other than local tomatoes and maybe corn from Meadow Farms at Peter Pratts, what local produce do you see on local restaurant menus? Is that the fault of the Yorktown Farmers Market?
Hanover Hilltop had a booth at the Yorktown market. They were higher priced than the other vendors. I'm certainly not going to go shop there. View Comment
This is terrible news! I loved the Yorktown Farmers Market. And now that the Danbury market is no more (which didn't bother me that much last year), I'll have to go back to Peekskill, which isn't any better than Yorktown was (and actually probably was worse). View Comment
It's definitely open to the public. A phone number or website link would have been nice. A quick search shows the phone # is (914) 248-2210 and they only seem to do a meal once a month. View Comment
The Food Emporium building is owned by A&P and there is no way they're going to rent it to another supermarket. It's bad enough that they are Turco's landlord, an unfortunate result (for A&P) of their initially leasing the store (for 99 years, I believe I've read) to a C Town, which then was able to sell the lease or sublease it to Turco's. Also based on my discussions with Trader Joe's managers, there is no way they're opening a new store in a downtown location. They are looking for high traffic areas hear highways (and that assumes they're even interested in the northern Westchester area, which their lack of stores seems to show they are not).
I do like the idea of the town taking A&P to court if they actually could find someone to take over the space and A&P refused, as is suggested in the article. I wonder if it would work.
Similarly, Dave & Busters would never come to a relatively deserted place like downtown Yorktown. Even the JV mall would not have enough traffic for them. View Comment
You folks have as strange a description of "Breaking News" as the folks who sent out the CNN tweets (maybe more so). This is NOT Breaking News worthy of a special email "BREAKING NEWS: Spring Warmth May Come Slowly...". If you keep sending garbage like this out, I and others will stop subscribing to your emails. Would you be happier if I used a name here (not my own, of course)? Since you can't possibly know everyone, using a real looking name that's not my own is no different than using a nickname, unless you're the sort who foolishly believes that all names here are actually real.
Oh, and I'm sure you have NEVER posted anything negative about a Democrat who had been charged with a crime, nor have any Republicans done so. View Comment
I am honored that you think of me like that but sadly it is not true. FWIW, I am not a fan of Silver, either.

He was given a ticket because it was not a serious enough offense to be arrested for. Semantics aside, he was charged with a crime.
I don't know that it would be such a big deal if he hadn't voted against legalizing marijuana for medical purposes. It's the hypocracy that people are pointing out. View Comment
