Rain Pushes Elmsford's Tree Lighting to Thursday

ELMSFORD. N.Y. – Residents will have to wait a little longer to see Elmsford's Christmas tree as the tree lighting ceremony has been postponed due to expected rain.

On Monday afternoon, Elmsford Mayor Robert Williams announced that Tuesday's ceremony would be moved to Thursday, Dec. 8 at 6:30 p.m. Preparations are still in place for the changed date, and the event will still take place at Village Hall.

Santa Claus will be on hand to greet residents and take pictures with children. It is recommended that attendees bring their own cameras. Entertainment will be provided by Alice E. Grady Middle School.

"The best part everyone loves are the three horse-drawn carriage rides to the Senior Center," said Williams.
