The lecture will educate listeners on common hand conditions that many suffer from, as well as tips on how to conservatively manage these symptoms. Techniques on how to use the hands in a way that decreases the load on the small joints of the hand will be presented.
Listeners will also become familiar with available equipment, such as button hooks and jar openers, that can be used to minimize pain and enhance independence with functional tasks that are limited by pain, motion or strength.
Learn from medical professionals about how functional use of the hands for everyday tasks can be significantly limited by pain, decreased motion and strength and decreased sensation and how to alleviate these symptoms.
