Kishuya, a restaurant at 163 South Central Ave., earned high marks for its Kishuya wings, chicken kara-age, rock shrimp, pork bao, stuffed shishito peppers (special), nikumiso don (rice bowl) and Ramen, according to the Times.

The restaurant features a number of experiences enjoyable to solo diners, but also provides a bit of a floor show and a view into an open kitchen, according to the Times.

Though the reviewer gave less than stellar reviews to the restaurant's "bland lettuce wraps and aburi tuna," the bowl of delicate clams in a "scrumptious sake broth" was praised as a marriage of wine and brine made in heaven."

Kishuya can be reached at 914-949-0600 or online at kishuya.com.
