Conn. Man Faces Drug, Driving Charges In Elmsford Crash

ELMSFORD, N.Y. – New York State Police recently charged a 61-year-old man with driving while ability impaired by drugs.

About 10:50 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, state troopers began investigating an auto accident on the Sprain Brook Parkway.

Concerned citizens had stopped the driver of one of the involved vehicles, Doran M. Talt of Milford, Conn., from leaving the scene of the accident by blocking his vehicle with other cars and taking away his keys, according to police.

During the investigation, police officers determined that Talt was driving under the influence of drugs and had heroin in his possession.

Talt was charged with two misdemeanor crimes – seventh-degree possession of a controlled substance and driving while ability impaired by drugs.

As of Wednesday morning, Dec. 10, Talt was being held in the Westchester County Jail in lieu of a $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond.
