GREENBURGH, N.Y. -- A Con Edison utility pole fell down on Route 119 near Knollwood Road Tuesday afternoon.

The roadway was temporarily closed while Con Edison worked on cutting power to the pole and removing it from the roadway.

Route 119 had one lane open in each direction at the intersection, Greenburgh Police Chief Chris McNerney said about 5 p.m. Tuesday.

The ramp from westbound Route 119 to Knollwood Road was expected to remain closed until approximately 9 p.m., McNerney said.

Power was expected to be returned to the south side of Route 119 shortly, McNerney said.

Power was expected to be restored to the north side of Route 119 by 7:30 pm.

The roadway was expected to have all lanes re-opened by about 9 p.m.
