Congratulations to the village of Ardsley and the team that developed the new affordable condominium units at the waterwheel on Saw Mill River Road. The property, previously located on foreclosed Greenburgh town owned land that we turned over to Ardsley for affordable housing, will provide a great quality of life for 22 families.
When I attended the grand opening this Saturday morning many of the families expressed appreciation for the housing but had one important suggestion that should be pursued: Crossing Saw Mill River Road is dangerous. New York State should place an enhanced crosswalk with blinking lights on Saw Mill River Road (near Macy Park). This crosswalk would make it much safer for families with children to safely cross the street when they are enjoying the county park.
I will be reaching out to New York State, Westchester County officials and will push for the crosswalk --similar to the crosswalk that was recently placed on Jackson Ave and Ravensdale near the Hastings/Greenburgh line.
