A registered "sexually violent" offender convicted of raping a teenage girl and boy has reported a move in Westchester County.

The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services issued an alert this week to Westchester residents regarding the residency of 38-year-old Jelani Rogers, who has moved from White Plains to an apartment on Hayes Street in Elmsford.

The Division of Criminal Justice Services has assigned Rogers as a level two threat, which means he is at "moderate risk of a repeat offense." He has also been designated as a sexually violent offender.

According to the Division of Criminal Justice Services, Rogers had "deviate sexual intercourse" with a 14-year-old girl and another boy, whose age was not disclosed, in May 1999. He was convicted of first-degree rape in May the following year and sentenced to a term of between one day and four years in state prison. He is now under the jurisdiction of the Elmsford Village Police Department.

Further info on Rogers from the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services can be accessed after entering the code in the CAPTCHA box found by clicking here.
