ELMSFORD, N.Y. -- Elmsford firefighters had a memorable Memorial Day as they helped deliver a baby.
The Elmsford Fire Department received a call Monday afternoon to dispatch an ambulance to Ichi Riki, a restaurant on East Main Street in Elmsford for a woman having a baby, a department spokesperson said.
The baby couldn't wait to arrive and was delivered in the back of the Fire Department's new ambulance at the scene, the spokesperson said.
The mother, whose name was not immediately available, works at the restaurant. After delivery mother and her healthy baby boy were transported to Westchester Medical Center, the spokesman said.
