ELMSFORD, N.Y. The Westchester Broadway Theatre is raising money to support veterans. Patrons are invited to make donations during the performances of My Fair Lady and the special events on Monday and Tuesday nights, according to Pia Haas, the theaters director of press and public relations.
She added that the theater had already donated $10,000 to veterans in the past, and that all the money being raised now will go to the wounded warriors and veterans at the FDR Veterans Hospital in Montrose, N.Y., which serves vets in Westchester and Rockland Counties.
The money raised will be presented to Commander Robert Foster, of Eastchester Veterans of Foreign Wars, at the Glenn Miller Orchestra concert on Oct. 17 at the theater, Haas said in an email.
Bob Funking, Westchester Broadway Theatres owner and executive producer, said helping veterans is a priority on the theaters fundraising efforts.
Of all the fundraising we do, supporting our returning vets for their sacrifice is among the highest, he said.
