GREENBURGH, N.Y. -- Following a four-month investigation, the Greenburgh Police Street Crime Unit has arrested three people for pick-pocket-type larcenies at area stores.
Police arrested Dawn Boykin, 56, of the Bronx, Toni Green, 53, of the Bronx, and Bonita Brown, 57, of Westbury, and charged them with felony grand larceny, said Lt. Michael D'alessia.
According to police, the women would target primarily senior shoppers by causing a distraction while one of the suspects would remove the purse from either the victim's shopping cart or person. The suspects would then purchase merchandise using the victim's credit cards at various retail establishments, but primarily Target stores throughout the area, police said.
