Hastings Man Charged With Kidnapping

HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – A Hastings-on-Hudson man has been charged with kidnapping for allegedly barricading himself and his wife inside their home starting late Sunday, lohud.com reported.

Antonio Velez, 37, of Marion Avenue, allegedly became upset around 11 p.m. Sunday, according to lohud.com.

After a standoff with law enforcement officials for several hours, Velez agreed to release his wife – who had injuries to her left eye, lohud.com reported.

Velez then surrendered to authorities about 30 minutes later, and may face additional criminal charges, according to lohud.com.
