About 3:30 p.m., the robber, who wore a red and white scarf over his face to conceal his identity, entered the Shell gas station on Central Park Avenue and demanded money. The gas station clerk told police that the robber had a silver handgun. The robber fled with an undetermined amount of money, police said.

The robber was described as light-skinned, between 5-foot-10 and 6 feet tall, and was wearing a gray winter jacket and a white wool hat.

Police officers canvassed the area, going from door to door searching for the robber. Detectives were reviewing security footage.

“At this point, we’re still trying to put the pieces together,” Kalmes said. “We just got the security tapes. We’ll know more when we finish going over them.”

Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to contact Greenburgh police at 914-682-5325. All calls will be kept confidential.
