WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- New York State Police have released the details of an accident on the Sprain Brook Parkway in Yonkers that killed an infant on Tuesday, Nov. 26.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the operator of the vehicle, identified as 24-year-old Farion A. Daley, was operating a 2005 Nissan Altima and traveling at a high rate of speed.
The vehicle lost control and traveled from the right lane and exited the roadway at the left shoulder, traveling up an earth embankment, and subsequently struck a tree, according to State Police.
Several people, including a retired State Trooper, removed the injured occupants from the vehicle and immediately rendered First Aid. As a result of the crash, the driver’s daughter, 1-year-old Aniyah Daley, was pronounced dead at Westchester Medical Center.
