Westchester Woman Tries To Take Child Out Of Classroom, Police Say

A 49-year-old Croton woman was arrested and charged after Yorktown Police say she tried to remove a child from a classroom at Yorktown Presbyterian Church on Monday.

Lesia Gagliotti was charged with endangering the welfare of a minor, a Class A misdemeanor. 

Gagliotti entered a classroom and attempted to grab the child out of the arms of a teacher, despite not being a relative or having custody of the child. Gagliotti is a licensed master social worker, according to her LinkedIn page. 

Gagliotti was remanded to Westchester County Jail in lieu of $1,500 cash bail and is due back in court on Feb. 6.
