GREENBURGH, N.Y. -- Highview Elementary School students learned first-hand about civics and local government on Jan. 19, when Greenburgh Supervisor Paul Feiner and Councilman Kevin Morgan were sworn into office with the help of second- and third-graders.

On hand to do the official swearing-in was Town Clerk Judith Beville. Feiner, Morgan and Ms. Beville invited groups of students up to hold the Bible while the two Greenburgh officials were sworn in, and all three explained how local governments work to help students and their families.

The swearing-in was one of several such ceremonies held by the Greenburgh public officials over the past week, including one at the Richard J. Bailey School and another at Town Hall, where Woodlands High School students and alumni participated.
