Kensico Students Thanked For Wounded Warrior Donation

VALHALLA, N.Y. -- Following its annual Haunted House event last October, Valhalla's Kensico School donated more than $2,000 of the proceeds to the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP). The school recently received a letter of gratitude for the donation.

The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) is a charity and veterans service organization that was created in 2003. It offers programs, services and events for wounded military veterans following the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks in Manhattan.

After October's Halloween-based event, Kensico Coach Scott Dooley sent a donation of $2,045 to the Wounded Warrior Project.

"Your generosity to Wounded Warrior Project speaks volumes about your concern for the truly deserving servicemen and women who placed their lives on the line to secure our freedom and safety and as a result returned home wounded in body and spirit," read a letter from WWP Chief Executive Officer Steven Nardizzi. "Please know that your continued support means so much," the letter continued. "These men and women who served with honor deserve our respect and support."
