Art department chair Angela Langston conceived the idea of superimposing the flags of students' native countries over the U.S. flag.

Painter and digital artist James Kimak worked with students in Kristen Dreher's studio art class on the mural.

Students painted their own interpretations of their flags of origin with descriptive words about their feelings for the U.S.

The work was made possible with a grant from The Foundation for the Public Schools of the Tarrytowns.
