As it continues to search for a buyer for the Liberty, the Madison Square Garden Company recently announced their 2018 schedule, with their primary home court being at the Westchester County Center in White Plains.

Officials said that this is the first time in more than two decades that a professional sports team has called Westchester home.

“I am excited to have the New York Liberty play here in Westchester at the County Center. The games will not only benefit our economy, but also provide great entertainment for the people of Westchester,” Westchester County Executive George Latimer stated. “Personally I can’t wait to head over to the County Center and cheer them on.”

The Liberty’s season will tip off on Sunday, May 20 in Chicago. The home opener at the Westchester County Center will be held at 7:30 p.m. on May 25 against the Minnesota Lynx. In total, the Liberty will play 15 games at the Westchester County Center and a pair of special back-to-back games at Madison Square Garden.

In a statement, New York Liberty President - and former Knicks Head Coach - Isaiah Thomas said that “Madison Square Garden (Company) has had a very positive experience at the Westchester County Center, and believes it is a venue where the Liberty can extend our fan base while maintaining our roots at The Garden.”
