Car Goes Up In Flames On Busy Westchester Roadway Smoke was seen on a busy main route in Northern Westchester when a vehicle went up in flames.  The incident happened on Saturday, May 11 around 1:40 p.m., when a car caught on fire on Route 9 southbound in Croton-on-Hudson just south of the pedestrian bridge.  According to the village's fire department, the blaze began in the vehicle's engine compartment and was quickly put out. The car was removed from the road after around an hour. No injuries were reported.

Litter Of Days-Old Kittens Found Abandoned In Milk Crate In Westchester A litter of kittens has a new surrogate mom after being found abandoned in a milk carton crate in Westchester. The kittens, all only a few days old, were discovered in a milk crate by Briarcliff Manor-based SPCA Westchester on Monday evening, May 6.  Luckily, the organization was able to keep the kittens alive and worked to bottle-feed them every few hours after their rescue to keep them healthy.
