Your I-95 Thanksgiving Commute Is About To Get Better: Dozen Bridge Lanes Opening In VA
Some relief is coming to one of the busiest travel days of the year in Northern Virginia. The Virginia Department of Transportation announced that the original I-95 northbound bridge over the Rappahannock River in Fredericksburg will be opening before Thanksgiving. That's 12 lanes. The big reveal is part of an ongoing project with a goal to improve congestion and travel I-95. Fare Evader Takes Walk On The Wild Side Along Metro Train Tracks
A fare evader went through extreme measures to - unsuccessfully - avoid being apprehended by Metro Transit Police officers during the evening commute. Late on Monday afternoon, some commuters were held up when a traveler hopped the turnstile and took a stroll down the tracks at the Naylor Road Metro Station. $15M Project Will Replace 60-Year-Old Bridge In Arlington, Public Urged To Weigh In
The public is being urged to weigh in on a $15 million project planned to replace a 60-year-old bridge in Arlington. The North Old Glebe Road bridge over North Glebe Road (Route 120) was built in 1964 and today, averages 7,000 vehicles a day, the VDOT said. Rehabilitating the bridge would cost 9.75 million, and so, the county has opted to fully replace it. The new bridge will feature a wider sidewalk on the eastern side and an additional sidewalk on the western side. Person In Custody, Being Treated At Hospital After Causing BWI Airport Shutdown
Additional details have been released by the MDTA Police Department one day after traffic was temporarily halted at BWI Airport.
